Amen to that! And I hope you can appreciate how much I agree to use the word "amen." My defense of Jesus has alienated me from other atheists on occasion. For me, whether he was literally real or god’s son is not the important thing. His lessons are the important thing. So many people could clearly benefit from understanding them thoroughly! It’s funny, I like to think that if Jesus came to Earth tomorrow, he’d be cool with me despite my irreligious tendencies. I know I’d be cool with him, if he is how I imagine.

If his followers bother me, I notice they usually aren’t actually following most of the moral teachings. Trying to make Christianity compatible with capitalism for US consumption is one of the most bizarre and hilarious things I’ve ever seen.
