For Virginia Tech

Our daughter Sarah and her husband are both VT grads; in fact, they met there. Karyn and I taught a number of students in Charlottesville who are now VT students.

Today we are all Hokies.

My cousin Matt is a student there. Thankfully he’s alive and well. I still can’t believe what happened….

Glad to hear it, Denise. I just heard from a couple of my former students as well.

For those of us who are PCA, there’s an RUF campus minister at VA Tech and the Rev. Chris Hutchinson pastors Grace Covenant Church in Blacksburg. I’m sure they would all covet our prayers as they seek to minister the Gospel in the midst of a horrific situation.

Thanks, Joel, for your heart for my brother and everyone else there ministering. The Washington Post has a two minute video essay of the prayer service at my brother’s church last night posted on their website front page (click here). The professor who saved the lives of her students by quickly locking and barricading the door (the murderer fired two shots through the door trying to get in) came to faith in Christ through the PCA church’s gospel ministry, and was baptized just 18 months ago.
