Picasaweb Address Change
In order to protect my Gmail address from spam harvesters, I’ve changed the name of my Google-related Picasaweb photo album. It is now located here (http://picasaweb.google.com/sagethefool). If you’ve bookmarked or added the album to your feeds (or added me as a “friend” if you’re a fellow Picasa user), please update your links.
And thanks to my dear friend Geof, I now have upgraded storage on Picasaweb. There will be no stopping the Poppy-razzi! Gotham trembles! Women weep! Mothers pull their children in from the streets!

Thanks for the idea– I had never thought about changing the name on my Picasa site for security (I just began using it). It makes a lot of sense and hopefully will cut down on the spam I’ve been getting.

Allison:
I was hunting the web for any gossip about what improvements Google might bring to picasaweb before it goes off beta status when I came across a techy blog post about the spam problem. Since picasaweb uses your Gmail name as the name for your album (by default), it is easy pickings for spammers to design a bot that simply picks up album names (which are then, for the most part, guaranteed to be active gmail accounts). I was thankful to find out that they provide the option (under Settings) to give an alternate name…especially thankful that I discovered that before I had given the site’s address to too many people!
