Geof:

If you are in the gift-giving mood (and my birthday <i>is</i> this Friday!), I'd probably more appreciate an upgraded storage on my Picasaweb account. I've become enamored with Picasa as my "photo editor for dummies," and it easily uploads straight to my picasaweb account. Vacation photos used up almost half of my free storage, though!

My camera is a FujiFilm that my son-in-law passed on to me when he got a newer camera. It isn't fully geek-ified (limited manual control) but I'm very happy with the results I've gotten. It has an awesome digital zoom and seems very forgiving to my less-than-steady hands after one too many vacation Honey Brown Ale's!

I <em>love</em> the idea of the Poppyrazzi. :chuckle: I may have to gift my favorite seminarians with a Flickr Pro account to support their <strike>crack habit</strike> ability to share photos with the wider world.

Yes, getting good equipment always drives one to shoot more. The budding photogeek in me wants to know what Mark's shooting. :D

Ah, how they despise the Poppyrazzi when his camera intrudes into every moment...but then how they love his pictures when they need a grandkid/Maine/Adirondacks fix!

Mark, Great pics, but you are missing 2 things! A picture of the photographer, and a nice touch would be some music playing while you view the slideshow! The beautiful scenes of the vacation house on the coast of Maine and the mountains were breath taking! It was great to see how big the g'kids are getting! You and Karyn are truly blessed! Congrats on Philip's new job! Blessings! Melissa in cville

"I went wild with my new digital camera on our recent trip and have posted a visual travelogue."

This is the understatement of the vacation. Mark is known by our grandkids as "Poppy." Suffice it to be said that we were accompanied by the Poppy Paparazzi wherever we went. I began to think I was married to a single-lens cyclop instead of a blue-eyed boy. Whether hiking, being silly with kids and sisters, relaxing, talking on the phone, cooking or sleeping (I did make it a habit to lock the bathroom door when I showered) we were never safe from the stealthy digital photo bandit.
