Help!!
To our friends in the Philadelphia area:
As some of you already know, the Traphagens will be moving this summer. No, the bill collectors didn’t find us again. Rather some dear friends of ours have offered to rent us their former home. We’ll be much closer to the seminary and have room to have folks over, especially gatherings of always-hungry Westminster students–something we’ve longed to do since we moved here.
As part of our “deal” with our friends, we’ve agreed to put some “sweat equity” into the house before we move in the beginning of August. So…if you would like to haul some trash or swing a paint brush side by side with us, we’d be most obliged. And I promise I’ll refrain from any allusions to Nehemiah and building the walls. So grab a paint brush in one hand and a sword…oops! We’re going to throw two work parties, one on each of the first two Saturdays of June. Food (and we aren’t talking Domino’s pizza here, this is Karyn’s famous home cooking!) and drinks (Mark might even share some of his precious Yuengling Black & Tan stash!) will be provided both at lunch and dinner time. Come any time you like; stay as long as you like.
So we can plan, we’d appreciate a heads-up that you’re intending to come on either (or both!) Saturday. RSVP to me at trappermark AT gmail DOT com. Formal wear is optional.
Of course, drop-ins are welcome. The new place is at 228 N. Tyson Ave., Glenside (two blocks north of Mt. Carmel Ave.). Click the address for a map.

A brother puts up a help sign and NO COMMENTS :), just kidding Mark, I’ll check with Jess but I want to tentatively say we can help on the first Saturday of June…baring internship responsibilities at Dresher. A black n tan would be appreciated!
In Christ, Tony

Actually, we have had some responses, Tony, but so far all by private email. Probably people who don’t want to be known as my friends

Hi Mark!
Although I speak with our sweet friend often, she hadn’t told me that they’d be renting the house to you! I am just delighted that you and Karyn will be able have gatherings like the King Street days. Dave and I would be there to help except the drive is a little far. I am tempted though because Karyn is a masterful chef! I hope you both enjoy the summer!

Sounds like fun! Not sure when/if I’ll be in town though…

Thanks to all who have responded so far. Even if you can’t make one of those Saturdays, we’ll be at the house working often during June and July. Just let us know if you’d like to stop by and give a hand anytime!

Hey! Welcome (in advance) to the neighborhood! Jeff and I are around the corner. Wednesday night neighborhood dinners (year round) and summer Fabulous Fridays for Westminster staff will be just blocks away.

Diana,
I had no idea! That’s great. We’re looking forward to being in a real neighborhood again. Must be that childhood spent with Mr. Rogers.
