A Light in Yei Town

I was delighted today to see a new comment on one of our posts from our trip to Sudan last summer. Bob Dalton is on his way back to Yei Town, where Karyn and I and several others from our church taught and served. In September he helped put in the first utility poles for the first public electricity in Yei in about twenty years. It was a moving experience for me tonight to see Yei again in the pictures on Bob’s project blog (click “Customer Login” to the left and enter “sudan” as both username and password, then click “Document Library” on the next page; the pictures are on .pdf pages that will open in your browser).

Most moving for me was his description at the end of his last set of pictures describing the night they turned on the first street light in Yei Town. Each night, hundreds more gathered just to see this one light turned on. We pray that the same will happen for the light being turned on there by the faithful believers in Yei.
