Can I tell you how disorienting it is to read the blog of a WTS student whom I’ve never met in person, who is mediating a strange contest being run by a college friend of mine who lives in Chicago between a WTS Philly prof whomI know and a WTS student who went to my alama mater but whom I’ve not met?

Yes: Traphagen, whom I’ve not met until this coming weekend, moderating on his blog a competition that seems to have been engendered by Buehrle, a friend from UNC undergrad who lives in Chicago, between Enns, a prof from WTS days, and Sam Boyd, a person I’ve not met who is also a UNC alum and friend of all of the above plus Stephen (another UNC alum at WTS) who mentions Sam Boyd almost every time I talk to him.

Hey, Daniel, I’ll be at the Monk late on Saturday night as I’ll be manning the WTS bookstore for a dinner for WTS alumni who are attending ETS/SBL. I’m going to come down as soon as I can break away, so try not to be so inebriated by the time I get there that you won’t know who I am

I’ll pop over to the bookstore while I’m at WTS having dinner on my seminary alma mater’s tab. But depending on the point in the evening at which I come over the flask might have done its work…
