Here’s an Idea: READ Your Bible!
Mark Horne has written a little jewel on the value of finding a Bible you feel comfortable reading and just….reading it. Don’t try to get something out of it, don’t look for God’s little message for you, just…you can do this now…read it!

I like some of his thoughts, Mark. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but more and more I tend to see the Bible as not primarily a rulebook or handbook or theological treatise but rather a story, a story that God uses to reveal himself to us. It’s not that it isn’t those other things at all or that it can’t be studied, just that I wonder if the Bible-worship so prevalent in many circles today doesn’t do much to bring people past the ideas about Jesus to Jesus himself.
