More Recommended Reading

Andy CrouchI’ve added a new link to my “regular reads” section to the right. (I’ve changed the name to “regular reads” from “daily reads” so I’m not lying anymore.)

If you like good writing from a thoughtful Christian, try out Culture Makers, the site for the collected writings of Andy Crouch. You may not agree with everything you read there, but you will never be bored. Aside from the piece Let’s Do the Mash which I already recommended, I would point you to Instant Messages: Christian Fiction in a Virtual World as a good intro to Andy. Heck, read anything on the site; it’s all good!

Joel GarverAnd speaking of really good writing, I’ve become a huge fan of Joel Garver’s stories about his three-year-old daughter Claire. Read the latest one here. I’ve taken up the cause of nagging him to collect all of these stories in one place, especially since his blog (quite annoyingly!) doesn’t have a search function. These stories have book potential; they are that good. The page I linked to for the story doesn’t link back to his blog, Sacra Doctrina, which you’ll find here.

i love reading the stories about Claire as well, especially since I can put them to her cute little face when I see her at church!

I thought they’d make a good book too…Conversations with Claire or something. But he’ll have to wait until Claire is grown… or else do them as a series of novellas.

They are sweet and profound and… I just love them. (No pressure Joel >:-)
