Westminster Theological Seminary grad Jerry Fourroux recently wrote Why Preach? in which he offers an impassioned plea for the importance to our lives of good preaching. It serves as a good balance to Mark Strom’s concerns in Reframing Paul (which I reviewed here). In particular, I was intrigued with Jerry’s argument from the Greek of Ephesians 4:21 that Paul expected the hearers of his preaching to literally “hear Christ” in his preaching. (
