Sudan mission to pastors
Each weekday Karyn and I get in our 2000 Hyundai and drive to our seminary classes in climate-controlled comfort. The most dangerous part of our journey is probably turning left onto Edge Hill Road.
A week ago some pastors in war-torn Sudan walked barefoot for days, crossing aligator-infested rivers, to reach their “seminary.” Several members from the church we’ve been attending in Philadelphia (liberti) including one of the pastors, are currently conducting a mini- crash-course seminary for Sudanese pastors who have had little or no Bible training. They meet each day in the dirt-floor mud hut they are standing in front of in the picture below.
I think I’ll stop worrying about my Greek final scheduled tomorrow or where tuition and living expenses will come from next year…and instead say a prayer for these guys and the valiant pastors they are helping.

We’ve been going there for about a month, but we still haven’t decided what to do about church. Liberti would really love for us to be there as they have almost no one our age, but to be that involved would probably necessitate moving in to the city and making our full-time lives at seminary quite a bit more difficult.
BTW, we go to the 4:00 service in Northern Liberties. Never been to the Art Museum area service in the morning.
